Since its opening in 1991, our hotel has become a center for artists, and the artistic and musical life of Vienna. The kindness of our staff and the atmosphere of Hotel Altstadt has attracted many individual tourists and travelers alike. Check-in turns into a warm, friendly welcome in our hotel, the room into a unique and tasty hide-away, and the hall of the hotel into a saloon with chimney-piece. We have followed the provisions of Otto Ernst Wiesenthal: create a space where you yourself would spend your free time. The unique art collection of the hotel creates a warm atmosphere: a bathtub from Philippe Starck, a real Helnwein somewhere near the stairs, and a Prachensky by the front desk. In addition, the Vienna Museum also lends us some pieces of art. Rooms We have 42 rooms and suites on 5 floors. All rooms and floors are unique. Comfortable and colorful furniture, honey-colored parquet, special lamps and contemporary paintings make each room different. All rooms have bathroom, toilet, radio, cable-TV, broadband internet, minibar and hairdryer. We also have non-smoking rooms. In July, 2006, Hotel Altstadt Vienna has opened 9 new rooms, which were designed by the famous Italian architect, Matteo Thun: dark parquet, beautiful chandelier, red velvet furniture - early 20th century atmosphere. The Red Saloon The Red Saloon hosts opening ceremonies for exhibitions, contributing to the interesting atmosphere of the hotel.
