Environmentally Friendly Accommodation in Vienna
If you are visiting Vienna and are very concerned about the environment, you should consider staying at the Boutique Hotel Stadthalle, which is a Zero Energy-Balance hotel in the 15th district of Vienna, near the Western Railway Station (Westbahnhof). Zero Energy-Balance means that Hotel Stadthalle creates the same amount of energy during the course of a year as the amount of energy that is needed to run it. This is achieved through the implementation of solar and photovoltaic panels, ground water heat pumps and even three wind turbines (currently under approval process by Vienna City Council).

Hotel Stadthalle does not only use renewable energy sources, but it also has a beautiful garden with roses and a rooftop with lavender. The lavender on the roof top helps keep the rooms cool during the summer months, acting as a natural air-conditioner.

Environmental Awareness as Top Priority
At Hotel Stadthalle, the bathrooms are flushed with rain water. The hotel generates its own electricity and two power stations are provided (free of charge) for guests to re-charge their electric cars! The hotel is built upon a sophisticated concrete structure, which integrates water pipes to allow water circulation to heat and cool the entire building.

Hotel Stadthalle was awarded the EU-Ecolabel, as a recognition for fulfilling the strictest criteria about limiting its impact on the environment.
