Austria is one of the mostly beloved European tourist destinations. The country is mainly visited in summer and winter. Citizens of the European Union can enter Austria with a passport or with identity card. Citizens of other countries have to possess visa. You can easily reach Austria by train from almost all European countries. The major railway association of Austria is the Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB). The EuroCity trains are the fastest; the InterCity trains connect the bigger cities. If you intend to visit cities it is worth travelling by train as it is the fastest type of transport. The trains are comfortable, clean and the ticket rates are moderate. The ÖBB offers various types of price reductions e.g. for smaller groups and for young people. Tickets bought from a ticket machine are valid for every train as these tickets are not scheduled. You can get information about the timetables at the railway station or ont he website of ÖBB. Have a nice journey! | ||||||||
