Description: This is a family managed small private guesthouse with a friendly atmosphere. If you wish to experience Vienna as a traveler, in a very authentic and local atmosphere then this is the place you should choose to stay. We are located in the heart of the main shopping street, Mariahilfer Strasse, in one of Vienna's liveliest areas. There are many places to eat, including coffee houses (from Starbucks to the traditional Viennese), bars, bakeries, restaurants, deli's and family style establishments in the area. The Naschmarket is only a 10min. walk away and it is open 7 days a week. You will find fresh fruit and vegetable stands, international deli's and food stalls offering inexpensive meals. On Saturdays, there is also a popular "Flea market". The Spittelberg area, noted for its student bars and artistic shops, is about a 5 min walk away. Located in the same apartment block as our guesthouse, is a pharmacy, a general kiosk (or Tobacco Shop) and a large fashion store. Our private home was renovated in 1999 and opened to guests wishing to rent rooms in a friendly family style environment. There are 3 spacious rooms, each with full private facilities, Cable TV (CNN) and can accommodate up to 5 people in a room. Each room has traditional high ceilings, parquetry floors and decorated in a simple soft classic style. All rooms are very clean, light and bright, with one room facing an inner courtyard and the other two onto one of Vienna's most popular streets. This is how you can find us, if you arrive at the Westbahnhof: Option 1: Walk in the direction of the "town center" along Mariahilfer Strasse, which should take about 10-15 min. Option 2: take the under groundline (metro) U3 for 2 stops to Neubaugasse, take the exit to Neubaugasse and we are located as you come out of the exit. the Südbahnhof ( Southstation): take the bus #13A to the stop called Neubaugasse. We are located, across the street, as you alight at the bus stop. the airport: take the train to the city air terminal, change to the line U3 for 5 stops to Neubaugasse, take the exit at Neubaugasse. the Franz-Joseph Bahnhof: take the streetcar/tram #5 to the Westbahnhof and walk in the direction of the "town center" along Mariahilfer Strasse, which should take about 10-15 min or you can take the under groundline (metro) U3 for 2 stops to Neubaugasse, take the exit to Neubaugasse. If you arrive by car, you will find several garages in our neighborhood, we suggest the one in the Apollogasse (Apollo garage) 3 houseblocks away from us for 12 EURO/day. |
