Description: K&T Boardinghouse 2 is a private guesthouse with 5 rooms in the city center of Vienna in Chwallagasse (6th district), which is a little side street of the famous Mariahilfer Strasse. Our rooms have a friendly and welcoming ambience, and a superb location near the busiest part of the city center. The Guestrooms The 5 rooms have each been renovated recently to offer modern comfort and a simple, classic style to our clients. All the rooms have private facilities (shower and toilet), cable TV with CNN, traditional high-ceilings and parquet floor. The units are also very-very clean, and have lots of natural light. In the bathroom, you will find a hairdryer, shower gel and towels. The windows of the rooms face Schadekgasse, and the windows are completely soundproof in order to provide a relaxing night. In addition, we provide tea- and coffee-making facilities in the rooms free of charge. Location and Transportation As you step out of the building, you will find one of the busiest intersections of Vienna right at your feet. U3 metro line has a station here (station Neubaugasse, exit Amerlingstrasse), and bus line 13A to/from Southern Railway Station (Südbahnhof) also stops here. You can walk to the Western Railway Station (Westabhnhof) in ca. 8 minutes from here, or take U3 metro for 2 stops. The Museums Quarter, Albertina Museum, the Naschmarkt (flea market on Saturdays), the State Opera, Stephansdom, Kärntner Straße, Hofburg Palace and the Graben can all be reached within a 10-minute walk from here. This part of town has lots of restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, coffee houses, pubs, etc. We do not serve breakfast in the guesthouse, as it would be useless to compete with this overwhelming supply of culinary offers. For those who love the American-style coffee, there is a Starbucks Café about 300 meters from here. Directly at the corner of our building, you will find Café Ritter, which is a well-known old Viennese coffee house. Arrival If you are arriving at the Vienna International Airport, you can either book a private airport taxi for 29 EURO/transfer, or take the City Airport Train (CAT) to station Wien Mitte/Landstrasse, then get on metro line U3 at the Westbahnhof in the direction of Simmering. Get off at the second stop, Neubaugasse, and use exit Amerlingstrasse. If you arrive by car, you can park it in one of the nearby public garages. There are plenty of spaces in these large parking houses, so do not worry about finding a parking spot. The garages along Mariahilfer Strasse usually cost around 25-30 EURO/24 hours. We also recommend the Apollo Garage in Apollogasse (3 blocks away), because it costs 12 EURO/day only. From Westbahnhof, you can either walk along Mariahilfer Strasse to get to K&T Boardinghouse 2, or you can take metro line U3 for 2 stops (see previous description). From Südbahnhof, get on bus 13A in the direction of Skodagasse and get off at station Neubaugasse/Mariahilfer (ca. 15 minutes journey). From Franz-Joseph Bahnhof, take tram line 5 to Westbahnhof, then follow the instructions above. Whichever way you arrive at the intersection in front of our guesthouse, look for Café Ritter, which is a huge landmark at the corner (cannot miss it). Walk to the café side of the street and walk leftwards to the next corner, then take a right turn onto Chawallagasse. The first door on your right will be our entrance. We recommend you to take a look at these Vienna City Tours and consider them for your Viennese city break. The tours include a free pick-up from K&T Boardinghouse 2, and usually end at the State Opera. You can then walk back to your room in 10-15 minutes. We also have some rooms on the other side of Mariahilfer Strasse: K&T Boardinghouse 1.
