Description: The name of our hotel reminds you of Papageno the bird-like creature in W. A. Mozart's musical wonder "The Magic Flute": more than 210 years ago the operatic masterpiece was first performed in the long gone legendary "Freihaus-Theater on the Wieden", which was near to today's hotel. The house, which was built in the twenties of the last century, has late Art Nouveau and Art Deco elements, which also give the hotel its character. The rooms are spread over different floors in the building, in which doctors, lawyers, tax consultants, insurance companies and other companies also have their offices. This gives the hotel its typically Viennese atmosphere. In 1985 the hotel passed into the hands of the present owner who also gave the hotel the name it bears today. In keeping with today's standards all 44 rooms have bath or shower / toilet with hairdryer, direct dial telephone, radio, Sat-TV and minibar; the bathrooms are modern yet the rooms are furnished in traditional Viennese style. Some apartments and junior suites complete the offer. Tourists and families appreciate the comfort. For business travellers there are rooms with a desk, fax and internet modem. The upper floors offer an impressive panorama over the inner city as far as the hills of the Vienna Woods. This completely newly designed area has a private, elegant and relaxing atmosphere and a generous buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room from 7.00 until 10.00 a. m. After that guests may help themselves to tea and coffee at any time. It is important to us that our guest receives good service and feels comfortable. At the same time our friendly and attentive staff do their best to give you as much of a "Vienna feeling" as possible. Situation: ideal distance from the city centre- 700m from the State Operahouse (Staatsoper) of Vienna, perfect transport possibilities, taxi rank next to the hotel, garage at close quarters.
