Description: Hotel Wandl is a traditional, family-run three-star hotel in the city center of Vienna, 200 meters from the famous St. Stephans Square. Our history dates back to 1700, when Jakob Metz (Court Chamber Counsellor and Laxenburg Palace Govenor) ordered the construction of the so-called "To the Four Seasons" House. A Bit of History Later, in 1851, Joseph Georg Daum purchased the house and it was converted into a hotel, with all comforts according to the Parisian models. At that time, citizens of Vienna could visit the interiors of the hotel against a small fee, and 4,700 people have done so during the first 5 days after the grand opening. In 1854, Johann Wandl had bought the hotel. During a modernization process, an elevator was installed in the building and private bathrooms were built inside the rooms. This made Hotel Wandl the most elegant hotel in Vienna at that time. Our Rooms We have 138 rooms and suites with private bathroom (bathtub or shower), telephone, satellite TV and hairdryer. Baby cots are available free of charge. Children up to the age of 6 can stay in the room free of charge. Pets are allowed in the rooms, no surcharge applies. How to Get to Hotel Wandl From the Schwechat Airport: either take the Airport Bus (Flughafenbus) to City Airterminal, then U3 underground from Wien Mitte to station Stephansplatz, or send us your flight details in advance and we will arrange a Airport Taxi Transfer for you. From Western Railway Station (Westbahnhof): take U3 underground to station Stephansplatz. From Southern Railway Station (Südbahnhof): take U1 (Südtiroler Platz) underground to station Stephansplatz.
